So…I have been gone. Now, I am incredibly sorry but the last month (and these next four-ish to come) are probably the busiest of my life. Forget having time to blog, I don’t have time to breathe. BUT, I am asking y’all to be a little patient. I am TRYING MY BEST and WILL get more regular. I just need to time to get my bearings.
I talk about the not-so-fun side of traveling all the time. I have talked about being overwhelmed and underwhelmed. I have talked about disappointments left and right. Now, that I am on my soap box I would like to talk about the biggest disappointment of my time in Rome (drum roll please). I was not able to see the villa borghese. It was probably no.1 on my list. As you may or may not remember, I am a die-hard Bernini fan. The Villa Borghese was something that haunted my dreams and something I needed to do. I needed to stand in front of Bernini statue and cry my heart out. Now I am actually playing on a technicality here. Villa Borghese is the whole park (which obviously one doesn’t need a ticket to see), but the museum is housed in the Villa Borghese that the park is named after. So I did in fact see Villa Borghese…or did I? This is tops my most confusing posts ever. But, basically I saw the park, and despite being rather upset (more upset than I have ever been about missing any destination in my life), the park was gorgeous and nothing short of enjoyable. One day, when I have more time (and when it’s warmer) I would like the come see the museum and simply ride up and down in this quiet leafy abode. Here are the pictures from the far to short hour I spent in the park.
It’s a great place to rent a bike and take round….or if you are a little for daring and want to try something that is interesting (read: embarrassing), you can ride one of these:
I have heard that the Villa Borghese (or the Borghese Gallery, whichever you prefer) is amazing (sadly, I don’t know as I have not visited) so book a ticket ahead of time. Here’s the website: http://www.galleriaborghese.it/prenota-en.htm
I found the information on this website‘s “getting there” section most useful
Even the park is a great break from a busy day in Rome

So….It’s been forever. My last pre-planned post was posted over a week ago. However, now I am back home and have access to my photos and my computer. Now we can get things back on the road. Some things in … Continue reading →
I am really good at making a fool of myself. I mean REALLY good. Like, I would win the olympics if it were a sport…okay….maybe I’d get a silver and Sarah Palin would get a gold. Now I promise this … Continue reading →
The colosseum (and the surrounding areas of the forum) are iconic to Italy. I have found that whenever it comes to visiting iconic places I am always a little nervous. For some reason, quite illogically, that the more popular it is … Continue reading →
Bloggers are amazing people. And I may be a little biased in saying that that is especially true for travel bloggers. They, in my opinion (the right opinion), are the best place to go for travel advice. I mean, don’t … Continue reading →
Dear Roma, I have liked places before, Colorado, Naples and Polingnano a Mare to say the least. I bet you are even getting tired of me telling you how much I loved a place I visited. In my defense, I … Continue reading →
No. It wasn’t the Vatican. Yeah. I know, you want to hit something over my head. Make sure you read that right. My favorite museum that I visited in Italy was the National Archeological Museum in Naples. Now I almost waited on … Continue reading →

We happened upon the Castel Nuovo by mistake. We were just walking and we saw it and we decided to enter. I am glad we did because it’s quiet the looker. The gate was the prettiest part. The entrance was … Continue reading →
